Mangaluru: A passenger who attempted to smuggle gold by concealing them in his slippers, was arrested by the sleuths of the customs department at the Mangalore International Airport on November 26.
The passenger has been identified as Ahammed Tahir, resident of Kasaragod district of Kerala. The customs department seized 804 grams gold, valued at Rs 24 Lakhs.
He arrived at the airport in the Air India Express flight IX814.
