Mangaluru: The Ullal police arrested a leader of Hindu Mahasabha for allegedly organising the birthday celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi assassin Nathuram Godse on Tuesday, May 21.
The arrested leader is Rajesh. According to police sources, the accused Rajesh had organised the birthday celebration of Godse along with other leaders at a house in Kumpala, Ashraya Colony belonging to Vishwanatha Poojary. It is also alleged that the leaders justified the act of Godse and termed him a patriot. A complaint was registered against five Hindu Mahasabha leaders including Rajesh, Lohith and Vishwanath Poojary.
Based on a credible information, a team of police arrested Rajesh on Tuesday, May 21. The other accused are yet to be arrested.
