Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath laid the foundation for the construction work of Lady Goschen Hospital’s high-risk delivery ward on Monday, June 29.
After laying the foundation stone, Kamath said,”as there was a demand for the construction of high-risk delivery ward, the government has released Rs 2 crore. This ward will be constructed after demolishing an old building belonging to Lady Goschen Hospital.”
The new building would shelter seven-bed HDU unit, 4-bed ICU unit, 2-bed isolation rooms, linen store, nursing in-charge’s chamber, therapeutic diet, critical equipment and point of care lab, dirty utility, bedpan cleaning area among others.
Mayor Divakar Pandeshwar, Mangaluru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman Ravishankar Mijar, corporators Poornima, Jagadish Shetty Boloor and others were present.
