Former right wing activist attacks BJP workers, video goes viral

Bantwal: In a scene that looked straight out of a film, a Tulu film actor was allegedly seen attacking two persons who are said to be BJP supporters, with a machete at Bantwal, on Monday, June 11.

In the video that has gone viral on social media, a person identified as Surendra Bantwal, who has acted in two Tulu film is seen brandishing a long machete and attacking at least two persons. Reportedly, the incident happened at Baddakatte in Bantwal.

Sources claimed that the victims of this attack were BJP workers in the district.

According to sources, Surendra Bantwal injured Ganesh and Pushparaj. They are receiving treatment at a hospital. “They had a lucky escape,” said an eyewitness.

Interestingly, Surendra Bantwal is a former right-wing activist who had involved himself in activities of various pro-Hindu organizations. However, due to differences in opinions, he moved away from the Hindu organizations and in recent assembly elections, he supported Congress leader and former minister B Ramanath Rai.
