Belthangady: Former MLA K Vasantha Bangera met the Tahsildar here along with the beneficiaries of title deeds under the 94 C scheme and requested him to rectify the mistake in the survey numbers of the land allotted to them.
In the Mudukodi village of Venuru Hobli, around 20 villagers were allotted land under the 94 C scheme of the government and the title deeds were distributed. But the survey number mentioned on the title deeds was wrong due to which the beneficiaries were unable to get RTC for their land. Since RTC was the document required for all the government schemes they were deprived of all of them.
On Monday, May 13, Anup J Pais and other beneficiaries from Mudukodi village met former MLA K Vasant Bangers in his office, explained their problems and asked his help in solving them. The former MLA walked into the taluk office along with a delegation of beneficiaries. He met Ganapathy Shastri, Tahsildar and urged him to do the needful to change the survey number and issue the RTC.
The Tahsildar assured them that the mistake in the survey number of their title deeds would be rectified and RTC issued to all the 27 beneficiaries by June 27.
The villagers complained to the Tahsildar about a taluk office staff Harish for demanding a bribe of Rs 12,000 from them to rectify their documents and issue RTC. However, Harish denied the allegation when questioned by the Tahsildar. The Tahsildar told the beneficiaries to produce evidence so that he could take stringent action against him.
