Mangaluru: Former IAS officer, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, Sasikanth Senthil has written a letter to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday, December 10, condemning the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
He has posted the same on social media.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “I should remind that irrespective of the status of the CAB the idea of an all India NRC by itself is a dehumanizing effort. We as people of this country should now stand up for all the marginalized. Annexed is my letter to the Home minister. It is Time to Act. #CABNRCSatyagraha (sic)”

Senthil’s post has received mixed response of support and condemnation from Twitterati. A Twitter user said that is it good that he resigned as an IAS officer, as it did not suit him. They went on to mock the former IAS officer saying that they were unsure how he was even selected for the IAS cadre.
It can be recalled that the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday, December 9 midnight, after a lengthy discussion which began at 4 PM.
The bill was passed after it received 311 vote in favour and 80 against.
It will be moved in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday to finalize the same.
Meanwhile, even though Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured that it would not affect the minorities of the country, a massive protest against the bill erupted in several parts of the country.
