Mangaluru: A state-of-the-art renovated operation theatre at Fr Muller Hospital, Thumbay (FMHT) was inaugurated on Tuesday, January 7.
This is one of the finest operation theatres in the entire country, set up at the cost of Rs 60 lakh. The inauguration and blessing was done by Fr Richard Coelho, the Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions. After the inauguration, Richard Coelho said, ” Father Muller Hospital Thumbay has always stood firm on its central mission of providing quality healthcare services, mainly to the rural and disadvantaged poor people. Its core values embraced the principles of excellence in service and collaboration with local leaders and other stakeholders. This renovated operation theatre adds yet another feather to the glorious cap of the FMCI.”
He further said, ” It is the duty of the doctors to ensure that they handle the surgeries and treatment to the best of their abilities, without any errors. If not all our efforts in spending money on this facility will be a waste. Make sure doctors gain the faith and respect from their patients, while they treat them. Treat your patients with the utmost care and make a difference.”
Dr Shodhan M, Managing Director of Pharma Tech Industries, Mangaluru, who undertook the renovation of the OT said, “This renovation was rated as ONE of the best OTs in the Country by a bevy of professional doctors from a reputed hospital, having branches in Chennai and Sri Lanka. The OT has all the sophisticated equipment required during surgeries, from minor to major ones. The main feature of these OT is the Laminar Flow Modular Stainless Steel, and nearly 8.5 tonne of AC power keeps the OT cool for better operation and comfort of the patients.”
FMHT administrator Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo during his welcome speech said, “FMHT since its inception on 1 May 2013 has grown from a simple general hospital care to multi-speciality hospital with state-of-the art facilities, with the motto “Heal and Comfort” and slogan “We Care For You At Every Stage”. Ours is a hospital having 150 beds, provides service in General Medicine, Paediatrics, ENT, Dental, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Physiotherapy, OBG, Cardiology, Radiology, Homeopathy, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesiology, and Psychiatry”.
Meanwhile, several persons were felicitated for their dedication and commitment during the renovation of the operation theatre.
Father Muller Medical College Hospital (FMMCH) Administrator Fr Rudolph Ravi D’sa, Dean Dr Jayaprakash Alva, FMHT Medical Superintendent Dr Kiran Shetty, Chief Nursing officer Sr Janet D’souza and others were present.
