Film Kanoorayana to depict rural life, not publicity stunt: Dr. Heggade

Belthangadi: The film Kanoorayana will depict the intrinsic rural lifestyle delving into the problems of rural folk and showcase the positives of economic empowerment, said Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade and ruled out that it was a “publicity stunt.”

During the “Mahurtha” of the new film “Kanoorayana” , Dr. Hegde aired his views after blessing the film crew led by director T S Nagabharana.

The village folk dependent on agriculture face extremities of drought and deluge and youth face hardships to ultimately emerge victorious, explained Dr. Heggade and the film makes a serious effort to keep the urban folk abreast with rural life, he added. The world is viewing India’s progress in rural development and empowerment of women is one of the prime achievements in this direction, said Dr. Heggade and clarified that the film Kanoorayana is not a documentary but meant for the entire family.

“Every member associated with Shri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Programme ( SKDRDP) is a producer for the film as each one is contributing Rs 20 towards the film. With a total member strength of 20 lakhs the goal is to collect Rs 5 Crore to produce the film. How transformation can be brought about in rural life style is the theme on which film will be made with emphasis on economic empowerment,” Dr. Heggade stressed again talking about the film directed by renowned Kannada film director T S Nagabharana. The film is going to showcase benefits of empowerment in real terms and the film venture is crowd funded, explained Dr. Heggade.

The film is next to only to “Amul” in the series and the first in the state of Karnataka, vouched Dr. Heggade.

Hemavathy Heggade clapped for the “Mahurtha” of the film and briefed about raising resources to complete the film. Harshendra Kumar and Supriya Harshendra Kumar launched the cinematography in the company of Shruddha Amit, Assistant Director Pannaga Bharana and Cinematographer Srinivas Ramaiah.

Hero Skanda, heroines Sonu Gowda and Jahnavi, costume designer Nagini Bharana , dialogue writers Harish Hagalavadi and Avinash Balekkal were present on the occasion.

The film under the banner Shratalaya Films, will be produced by the members of self help groups associated with SKDRDP to coincide with the celebrations of 50th year of Dr. Heggade’s Pattabhishekha.
