Mangaluru: If everything goes according to plan, the life story of the women from the Navodaya self-help group will hit silver screen in the near future.
The Navodaya self-help group has been empowering thousands of women over the years to avail loan facilities from the banks for their financial needs. It was inaugurated by Dharmastala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade. Some women in the group had set up their own small business and achieved success. Considering the achievement of these women, someone has asked M N Rajendra Kumar, who started this self-help group around 26 years ago, to make a movie on the self-help group.
Rajendra Kumar revealed this during the inaugural of a workshop organised for the employees of the central cooperative bank and its management at the SCDCC Bank auditorium on Monday, February 24. Addressing the gather, he said, “There is a demand to make a movie based on the lives of the women in the Navodaya self-help group. I am ready to do so as I have working experience in the film industry.”
Meanwhile, Rajendra Kumar said that the SCDCC Bank will provide financial assistance to those who are aspiring to write IAS and IPS examinations.
M N Rajendra Kumar’s 71st birthday was celebrated on the occasion.
