Belthangady: In a tragic incident, a man was hacked to death by his father and brother, several months after an altercation had broken out between them.
The incident took place at Matla of Kasaba in Belthangady on February 11.
The deceased is Naveen, 28, a farm worker by profession.
It is said that on New Year’s eve, a fight had broken out between Naveen and his father Manjunath over some trivial issue and in a fit of rage, Naveen assaulted his father. Naveen’s brother, Raghavendra was present during this incident.
However, on February 11, Manjunath raked up the same issue and a fight broke out. During the course of the fight, Manjunath and Raghavendra overpowered Naveen and stabbed him with a knife and the latter succumbed to the injuries.
His wife Baby has lodged a complaint in this regard.
Manjunath and Raghavendra, who are astrologers by profession have absconded after the incident.
Naveen is survived by his wife and two kids. The family hails from Hassan.
