Mangaluru: With the countdown starting for his swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy took up a short temple run in Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday.

Visiting Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala on Tuesday morning, the chief minister-elect made a rather ambiguous statement with regard to waiver of farm loans. “I had promised to waive off the loan if we get complete majority. The voters did not give us the majority. However, I will make sure that policies helping farmers in a big way will be brought in place,” he said speaking to reporters.

He said that even in this coalition government, he will try his level best to safeguard the interest of the farmers. “I would want to talk about this elaborately only after the floor test,” he said.

After having a talk with Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade and offering some special prayers at the temple along with his wife Anita Kumaraswamy, he proceeded to Sringeri temple.
