Bantwal:ICYM unit of Our Lady of Vailankanni parish, Farla, near here organized dance competitions for the deanery youth.
Ten groups of different parishes across Bantwal deanery participated in dance competitions.
The popular comedian Dolla Manglur inaugurated the competitions symbolically by handing over ringing-anklets to the dancers on the occasion.
Farla parish priest Fr Manohar Noronha presided the programme.
Bantwal deanery youth director Fr Benjamin Pinto and comedian Dolla Manglur were the chief guests of the occasion.
Irene Rebello, Vernon Manglur, Nixon Kulshekar were the jurors of competitions.
Fr Manohar Noronha, Farla parish ICYM unit president Babli D’Souza welcomed the gathering by traditionally offering a plate of beetle-leaves, areca nut and tobacco on the occasion.
Comedian Dolla Manglur enthralled the audiences with rib-tickling jokes.
Infant Jesus parish – Modankap ‘A’ group bagged the first prize, Loretto parish bagged the second prize and Infant Jesus parish – Modankap ‘B’ group bagged the third prize.
Jason Saldanha, Sonali D’Souza, Renita Lasrado and Vincent Lasrado compered the programme.
Farla parish ICYM unit secretary Renita Rebello proposed vote of thanks.
