Mangaluru: Officials from the Excise Department and the Railway Police Department collaborated to confiscate liquor being transported illegally on a train at Mangaluru Junction railway station on Friday, May 28.
As much as 138.750 liters of liquor was seized from the Dadar-Tirunelveli express train.
Surprisingly, the accused went missing. A case was filed under the Excise Act.
Shailaja Kote, joint commissioner of Excise, and Ajay Kumar, inspector of southern railway Mangaluru, headed the operation.
