Every Day is Kannada Day: T S Nagabharana at the Excellent Science & Commerce College

Moodbidri: Kannada Habba, a festival of Kannada, was celebrated at Excellent Science and Commerce College, Moodbidri. The president of the Kannada Development Authority, T.S Nagabharana inaugurated the program. Inaugurating the program, the veteran actor said that education has become confined to business these days. When there is a system of cordial teacher-disciple relationship, only then Indian culture can flourish. Congratulating the Excellent institutions for inculcating the gurukul system of education, the national award winner gave the call to give first preference to Kannada which has given us life.

Inaugurating the books written by the students, popular sandalwood actor Vijaya Raghavendra expressed his happiness for sharing the stage with his teacher Nagabharana and sang a song from his film Chinnarimutta. The Chief Guest of the program, president of Universal Academy, Bangalore, Upendra Shetty said that the present education system is confined to books that gives only marks but not knowledge and advised the students to learn the art of life.

The president of the program, Yuvaraj Jain, president, Excellent Group of Institutions said that our life should become an inspiration to others. Insisting the students to take risks, he advised that ignoring the negative, we should focus only on the positive to reach our goals. On this occasion, ‘Kalpana Kalarava’- a collection of Kannada poems by I PU student Ms. Krutajna Besur, “‘Kannada Habbada Kavitegalu-1’, a collection of selected Kannada poems of State Level poetry competition of previous year, and an English novel ‘When The Moon Bleeds’, by a second PU Ms. Ahani, was released by national award winner and popular actor Vijaya Raghavendra.

Rashmitha Jain, the secretary of the Excellent group of institutions welcomed the gathering. The principal, Pradeep Kumar Shetty introduced the guests. Dr. Naveen Kumar Marike, the convener and the head of the department of Kannada, gave an introduction about the books. The headmaster of high school, Guruprasad Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. Shivaprasad compered the program.
