Mangaluru: Reacting to the frequent statements of former chief minister Siddaramaiah that he will eat beef if he wants to, Minister for Rural Development said that Siddaramaiah should go ahead and do so.
“Thindu saai, namgenanthe” (eat and die, what have we got to do with it), said the minister.
Speaking to reporters in Bantwal on sidelines of an event, Eshwarappa said that Siddaramaiah has been making distasteful statements and the Congress does not object.
“I will eat beef, I will eat chicken on Hanuma Jayanthi…. He has been speaking such things and the party is not taking any action against him. That is precisely the reason for the disgraceful and sorry state of the Congress party in the state,” he said.
The Minister further said that while the Ram Mandir is being constructed in Ayodhya, the BJP will also build Krishna temple in Mathura soon.
