Mangaluru: The Samastha Share-ath Samrakshana Samithi is organising a district level conference at Nehru Maidan on December 9 to urge the government not to interfere into the constitutional rights of Islam, especially triple talaq.

Speaking to the reporters here on Friday, December 7, the Conference Reception Committee Convener Abdul Aziz Darimi said, “Triple talaq is a system, guaranteed in Share-ath Law of Islam. As the Indian constitution allows people to follow one’s religious and traditional practices, it is not fair to object to `triple talaq` by bringing in an ordinance in this regard. Hence, the scheduled conference would urge the government not to interfere with the constitutional right of Islam“, he said.

Aziz Darimi added, “Though there is a big debate going on now with regard to the issue of women of all ages entering Sabarimala temple, Hindus should be allowed to practise their own traditions. It is not right to question the age-old systems of any religion”, he said.

Informing about the scheduled conference, Aziz Darimi said, “A huge rally will be taken out from Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan on that day at around 2.30 PM, in which thousands of people from Islam community will participate. Later, a huge conference will be organised. The intention of the conference is to protect the Share-ath Law of Islam”, he added.

Committee leaders like Mohammed Haneef Haji, Sadakatullah Faizi, Rizazuddin Bunder, Hakeem Parthippady and K Ashraf among others were present.
