Mangaluru: The Mangalore South BJP Yuva Morcha secretary Nandan Mallya alleged that there are around 5900 fake voters registered in the constituency. Most of these fake voters are students from Kerala state who are staying at PGs and hostels in and around Mangaluru.
“We strongly condemn a similar incident of nearly 10,000 fake voter IDs being confiscated in Bangalore and request the authorities concerned to take strict action,” he said.
Further he urged the Election Commission to look into the irregularities in voters list in Mangaluru South and take stringent action failing which the Yuva Morcha will take to streets in the coming days he added.
“Our members in Kerala are tirelessly working to get the information on the voters IDs registered there in order to trace the duplicate entries.
We are fully prepared for the elections. We ask the Congress candidate too to prepare for the elections in a legal way. Indulging in unusual means to secure votes is a mockery of democracy and we strongly condemn it,” he said.
Mangaluru South Yuva Morcha President Sandeep Shetty, Vice President Madhu Shetty were present.
