Mangaluru: “The MPs of Mangaluru and Udupi have been indulging in instigating the youth to disturb peace in the district”, alleged Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Vice President Prof. Radhakrishna. He also added that instigating the youth was easy, but very difficult to inspire them.

Addressing the reporters here on Monday, September 17 he said, ”Most of the people living in Dakshina Kannada district are peace-loving people. The unique culture here encourages everybody to unite, not divide. However, MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel and Shobha Karandlaje are trying to disturb peace in the district”, he said and asked the MPs to inspire people instead.

Coming down heavily on the Narendra Modi-led union government he said, ”During the last four years of administration, Prime Minister Modi kept on chanting `acche din aayenge` `sab ka saath, sab ka vikas` among other slogans. However, it is now proven that there is no truth in his words and that all his promises are fake. The prices of grocery items and fuel have gone high when compared to the tenure of the UPA government. Mere slogans of Modi would not feed anything to the people”, he said.

He also condemned the move of the BJP leaders who scream and try to topple the coalition government. ”The party has decided to form a coalition government prior to the final result of the election. The efforts of BJP in toppling the coalition government would not yield any positive result. BJP has cheated the public and people would teach a befitting lesson to the ruling party in the Lok Sabha election”, he said.

Informing the decision of the government on cutting down the prices of fuel, Radhakrishna said, “The government has decided to cut down prices of petrol and diesel by upto Rs 2 per litre. With this, Karnataka has the lowest price on fuel when compared to the other states in the country. It should be noted that even the states which are ruled by BJP haven’t reduced the price on fuel unlike Karnataka.

Congress leaders like Ibrahim Kodijal and A C Vinayaraj and others were present.
