Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath has requested the government not to cut down the Dasara holidays given to the schools at any cost.

The government had earlier granted holidays for schools from October 7 to 21. Now the government has reduced the holidays to October 14 to 21.
Calling it inappropriate, the MLA expressed his complete dissatisfaction in regard to the government’s decision to reduce Dasara holiday.

“By holding special classes on Saturdays, the holidays given due to excessive rains can be balanced, there is no need to reduced Dasara holidays,” he said.

The government has already given the freedom to respective schools and colleges to decide if Christmas holidays should be given or not, the same freedom should be given to the respective schools and colleges in regard with the Dasara holidays, he specified.
