DK sees slight dip with 229 new COVID positive cases; Seven dead

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 229 fresh cases and seven COVID-19 deaths, on Wednesday, August 12.

Of the seven dead, three are from other districts, two are from the Mangaluru taluk, and one each are from Moodabidri and Bantwal. Comorbidities were found in all seven cases.

The total COVID positive cases stand at 7,825 while 2,349 are active cases.

The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 244.

As many as 498 patients were discharged on Wednesday from various hospitals.

Among the 229 new cases, 133 are from Mangaluru, 45 are from Bantwal, 22 are from Puttur, five are from Sullia, 14 are from Belthangady, and 10 are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.
