DK reports 350 new COVID cases; Nine dead, 170 discharged

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 350 new cases and nine COVID-19 deaths, on Thursday, September 10.

Of the nine dead, five are from the Mangaluru taluk, one is from Bantwal, two are from Belthangady and one is from another district. Comorbidities were found in all of the cases.

The total COVID positive cases stand at 16,112 while 3,273 are active cases.

The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 427.

As many as 170 patients were discharged. Of these, 125 were quarantined at home and 45 were being treated in the hospital.

Among the 350 new cases, 154 are from Mangaluru alone, 56 are from Bantwal, 26 are from Puttur, 13 are from Sullia, 48 are from Belthangady and 53 are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.

As many as 182 of the new cases are symptomatic (110 men and 72 women) while the remaining 168 are asymptomatic (88 men and 80 women).

Of the 350 cases, 100 persons have contact history, 119 have influenza-like illnesses, 27 are SARI patients, and 104 are under investigation.
