Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association (DKDWJA) has condoled the demise of Pejawar seer Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji, on Monday, December 30.
Playwright and renowned film director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail after paying homage recalled that Pejawar seer was a staunch supporter of all art forms. “When foreign companies entered the coastal region, the seer was in the forefront opposing them,” he recalled.
Senior journalist P B Harish Rai informed that Pejawar seer earned respect because he never confined himself only to the Mutt and its activities. His contribution for eradicating untouchability was immense, he said.
Another senior journalist Pushparaj B N informed that Pejawar seer respect both his critics as well as supporters. “His innocence and knowledge earned him respect from all,” he said.
A floral tribute was offered to the portrait of Pejawar seer. Journalists Union president Srinivas Nayak Indaje welcomed and general secretary Ibrahim Adkastala proposed the vote of thanks.
