Mangaluru: State Bharatiya Janata Party President B S Yeddyurappa finally swearing in as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka triggered a grand celebration in Dakshina Kannada district by the party members on Friday, July 23 evening.
The leaders and workers of BJP raised slogans in favour of the party and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. Former MLC Monappa Bhandary, after the celebration, said that it was the victory of democracy. “Though the people of Karnataka had elected BJP as the single largest party in the Assembly, the unconstitutional alliance of Congress and Janata Dal (S) had succeeded in keeping us away from power. But, it is now proven that democracy is alive and unconstitutional moves will not last long “, he said.
The party workers and leaders have celebrated the victory by distributing sweets and bursting crackers.
