District bids farewell to DC AB Ibrahim

Mangaluru: The district administration bade farewell to former deputy commissioner AB Ibrahim at the DC office premises here on Saturday July 30.

Additional DC Kumar spoke highly about DC Ibrahim and said that he was an officer with outstanding administrative qualities.

“DC AB Ibrahim won the hearts of the public in DK. He is an energetic person. His inputs and work will always be remembered. His way of administrating will be missed. He was very helpful to the public who approached him for help,” said Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion, Ibrahim said that he was happy to serve the district and thanked everyone who supported him in his tenure in Dakshina Kannada.

“Even though I have faced controversies and issues, I have always loved facing challenges. I will continue doing the same. As many as 79 posts of pourakarmikas were made permanent in the Mangaluru City Corporation. Everyone should work for the betterment of the society,” he said.

“I thank media for helping me reach the public. Some decisions I took and programmes for the welfare of the society we conducted reached to a large section of the public only due to media’s presence,” he added.

Police Commissioner Chandra Sekar honoured Ibrahim and said that AB Ibrahim was a unique officer who used to initiate change.

Former minister Abhayachandra Jain, ZP CEO PI Shrividhya superintendent of police Bushan Gulabrao Borase also spoke on the occasion.

DCP (Law and Order) Shantharaju, MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazir, DFO Hanumanthappa and others were present.
