District administration should clear confusion over NRC: UTK

Mangaluru: MLA U T Khader urged the district administration to clear the people’s confusion about the National Register of Citizens (NRC) claiming that the general public is in fear about its implementation.

Addressing the reporters here on Monday, January 13 Khader, said, “The whole district is in confusion and people have no clarity about NRC. When Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, BLOs or any official visits to the houses, the people are not ready to open their door thinking that they have come to register them for the NRC. The NRC has not been implemented so far in the state and officials have not been sent for NRC registration. Hence, the district administration should clear the confusion that no official has been appointed for the registration of NRC.”

“Home minister Amith Shah says that we won’t back off from implementing the NRC, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi says they won’t implement the NRC. Why are they giving different statements and create confusion among the people?” Khader questioned.

“The Government is itself confused and have lost control over the administration. The Government has still not provided compensation for the losses occurred during the recent natural calamities. Even the funds have not been sanctioned for those who are beneficiaries of the housing scheme,” he added.
