Mangaluru: Close on the heels of the terror attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Jammu & Kashmir which killed 49 troopers, Sandalwood actor Anant Nag has opined that the disputed area of Kashmir should be handed over to the Indian Army for retaliation.

Addressing the reporters here on Saturday, February 16, Anant Nag said, ”There should be a permanent solution to the Kashmir problem and the death of innocent people should be stopped. Though India and Pakistan were divided based on the religion, the problems between the two nations have not been solved yet”, he lamented.

“During the Indo-Pakistan war in 1965, former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the eternal slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ which continues to inspire every Indian even today. The move of former prime minister Indira Gandhi during the East Pakistan crisis of 1971 was a great decision which led to India’s victory in the war with Pakistan. Such great decisions should be followed by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi now”, Anant Nag added.

Pointing at the recent statement of Mulayam Singh who wants Modi to become prime minister again, Anant Nag said, “Though there are such opinions from some of the leaders, we want a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue from Narendra Modi. One should not support the stone pelters under the garb of getting complete independence for Kashmir. Politicians also should not support them for hidden benefits, he said.
