Mangaluru: Even as the BJP is seeming confident that the rebels from the state coalition government have broken ties with their respective parties, minister U T Khader has said that the Congress and the JD(S) are still confident of proving the majority during the trust vote on Thursday.
Addressing the reporters here on Wednesday, July 17, Khader said, “Though there were some misunderstandings between the coalition leaders and its MLAs, they will definitely support the government. Hence, both the Congress and the JD(S) leaders are confident of winning the trust vote.”
When asked about the disgruntled MLAs of the Congress and JD(S) who are still staying at a Mumbai resort, Khader said that they might have been kept under confinement by the BJP leaders. “They are part of the coalition government and have co-operated with their parties and the government all this while. I am sure that they will be present during the trust vote on Thursday. There will be no threat to the government,” Khader said.
Meanwhile, answering a query with regard to an allegation that the ministers are facing problems due to over interference of PWD minister H D Revanna, UTK clarified that he has not faced any issues so far.
“My colleagues might have faced problems, but those issues could have been sorted out with the high commands of both the parties. We are like a family and misunderstandings are quite common in families. But, it won’t affect the trust vote of the coalition government,” Khader added.
