DC inspects counting centre; Security beefed up

Mangaluru: As the counting of the MCC election will be held at the Rosario School on Thursday, November 14, the Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner visited the counting centre and inspected the final preparations on Wednesday, November 13.

The counting will be held in 12 different rooms, each of which will be supervised by an election officer. Security measures have been beefed up around the centre ahead of the counting process. 

Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha informed that IPC Section 144 will be clamped within a 200-meter parameter around the counting centre on Thursday, from 6 AM to 6 PM. During the prohibitory order, carrying any deadly weapons and explosives will be prohibited. Holding public meetings, processions, celebrations of any kind, shouting slogans and usage of provocative words will also be prohibited.
