Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh informed that the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have already started visiting houses to verify the voters’ list and that people should ensure that their names are included in the same.
Addressing the reporters at her office on Monday, September 16, Sindhu said, “As per the direction of the Election Commission, the BLOs have started visiting houses from September 1, and will continue to do so till October 15. This initiative was taken as there were several complaints regarding mistakes in the names and addresses in the voters’ list during the last Lok Sabha election. Proper information should be given to the BLOs when they visit the houses.”
Informing about the voter helpline app, Sindhu said, “People can also confirm their names in the voters’ list, through the voter helpline app and web portal www.nvsp.in by producing the relevant documents. There is also a provision to change the photo. If there is any confusion with the existing system, people call the helpline number 1950”.
