Dakshina Kannada reports 218 new COVID cases, eight deaths

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district on Saturday, July 25, reported 218 new COVID-19 positive cases and eight deaths (including two from another district) as a result of the disease.

According to the bulletin released by the district administration, the five deceased are: a 67-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 23), 78-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 23), 88-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 23), 68-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 23), a 68-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 23), a 75-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 24), a 76-year-old woman from Mangaluru (died on July 24), and a 53-year-old woman from Manjeshwar in Kasargod (died on July 24).

Additionally, the bulletin states that there are a total of 4,612 positive cases have been reported in the district, of which 2,370 are active.

On a positive note, 140 people were discharged after making a full recovery. So far, 2,127 people have been discharged.

As many as 32,822 samples have been tested so far for COVID-19.
