Dakshina Kannada reports 119 new COVID cases, eight deaths

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district on Monday, July 27, reported 119 new COVID-19 positive cases and eight deaths (including two from another district) as a result of the disease.

According to the bulletin released by the district administration, the five deceased are: a 68-year-old man from Hubballi (died on July 23), 64-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 25), 65-year-old man from the Bantwal taluk (died on July 26), 82-year-old man from Udupi (died on July 26), a 65-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 26), a 65-year-old woman from Mangaluru (died on July 27), a 51-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 27), and a 92-year-old woman from Mangaluru (died on July 26).

Additionally, the bulletin states that there are a total of 4,930 positive cases have been reported in the district, of which 2,502 are active.

On a positive note, 80 people were discharged after making a full recovery. So far, 2,297 people have been discharged.

As many as 33,888 samples have been tested so far for COVID-19.
