Mangaluru: A four-day workshop on “Emergency Care and Life Support”, organised by Father Muller Simulation Centre in association with Jeeva Raksha Trust and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, concluded at the auditorium of the Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) recently.
This workshop was held for medical interns and medical professionals to provide tips on primary and secondary healthcare.
Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) Director Fr Richard A Coelho, who presided over the valedictory programme of the workshop, said, “Father Muller Simulation and Skills Centre is a state-of-the-art, multi-professional training facility equipped with the most advanced medical simulators and skill trainers. It was established in November 2015 as the first functioning advanced simulation centre in Mangaluru. The institution is committed to inculcating evidence-based simulation competence into the healthcare curriculum. Clinical simulations are activities that mimic the reality of a clinical environment and are designed to provide learners with opportunities to learn in a safe, friendly and risk-free controlled environment.
FMCI Simulation centre in-charge Dr Lulu Sherif welcomed the gathering and senior Dr Sumanth D proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Dr Nicole Pereira from the Department of Pharmacology.
Dean Dr J P Alva praised the FMCI Simulation Centre team for their work and achievements. Jeeva Raksha Trust Chief Executive Officer Dr Ramkumar Nair, and Dr Vijay Bhaskar Reddy from University of Utah, USA, Trustee of Jeeva Raksha Dr Ramkumar and Dr Vijay Bhasker Reddy were also present.
