Mangaluru: Close on the heels of the government’s decision to start English medium in government schools, a delegation of Communist Party of India CPI(M) met Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Dr. Sasikanth Senthil and submitted a memorandum, demanding the withdrawal of the same.
The delegation in their memorandum claimed that if the education is given in the native language (mother tongue), then the education would be perfect. “If so, learning of any language including English would not be a burden on the students. Hence, the government should not start government schools with English medium,” it says.
CPI(M) District Secretary Vasanth Achary and other members like K R Srian, J Balakrishna Shetty, Vasudev Uchil and Sunil Kumar Bajal were present.
