Mangaluru: The KSRTC’s Mangaluru division has reduced cut down on its trips to Bengaluru and Kasargod as a precautionary measure to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (covid-19).
KSRTC Mangaluru divisional controller S N Arun said that the Corporation has cut 40 trips to Bengaluru and it has reduced trips to Kasargod from 40 to 35.
Additionally, Dr. K Shivaram Karantha Pilikula Nisargadhama will be closed for a week following the outbreak of covid-19. Director of the Pilikula Biological Park, H Jayapraksh Bhandary informed that both the zoo and the regional science centre will remain closed till March 20, as per the directions of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.
Due to the closure of both the biological park and the science centre, the revenue loss could be around Rs 10 lakhs, says Bhandary. It can be noted that the Pilikula Biological Park witnesses around 1000 footfalls daily and over 5,000 during the weekends.
