Covid-19: Kapikad in Boliyar village identified as active containment zone

Kapikad in Boliyar village identified mainMangaluru: Owing to a positive case of Covid-19 at Kapikad in Boliyar village, Dakshina Kannada district administration has declared a particular area of Kapikad as an active containment zone.

Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, in a press release, informed that this containment zone is bound by East- open area, West- houses of Ummar Farooq and Khalid Abdul Shakoor, North- open area, Kinnimane temple, South – houses of Yakub, Riyaz, Ibrahim and Safiya.

Meanwhile, demarcation has been made for a buffer zone around this containment zone, which is bound by East- Basheer’s house, West- open area, North- PWD Road and South Abdul Khader house.

This area is covered by 25 residential houses and the total population of this area is 320.

For effective implementation of Covid-19 virus control measures, senior assistant director of horticulture, Zilla Panchayat, Mangaluru has been appointed as the incident Commander, who will be overall in-charge of containment zone and take necessary actions, the press release informed.
