Mangaluru: "A total of Rs 16520 Crore was spent on the developmental works in Dakshina Kannada district in the last five years. Addressing a gathering after attending an election roadshow in Suratkal, he listed out the various welfare programmes undertaken during the Modi regime. He said, "A total of Rs 1244 Crore was spent on railway stations and railway lines in the coastal district. A total of Rs 7646 Crore has released for the development of ports and Rs 230 Crore for a fishing jetty in Kulai. Under the Smart City project and Amrut scheme, Rs 161 Crore was released.
Under Mudra scheme, a total of 90571 beneficiaries received Rs 1380 Crore loans and under Prime Minister Awas Yojana, a total of Rs 81.66 Crore was released to 8075 beneficiaries. Balpa was selected under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana and a comprehensive development works have been undertaken there", he said.
Informing about the future programmes, Nalin said, "Primary approval has been received for the plastic park, coconut park, special agricultural zone, smart port, IT park among others, which would be implemented in the coming days. If these programmes materialise, a lot of employment opportunities will be created for the youths."
Union Minister Suresh Prabhu, MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty and other BJP leaders Ravishankar Mijar, Randeep Kanchan, Sudhakar Adyar, Ashok among others were present.
