Mangaluru: Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit undivided Dakshina Kannada in the first week of March ahead of Assembly elections in Karnataka.
Addressing a press meet at Congress Bhavan here on February 14, KPCC General Secretary UB Venkatesh informed that Rahul Gandhi during his four days tour, would visit all the eight constituencies in Dakshina Kannada and address a public meet.
“Rahul Gandhi will be travelling in a special bus throughout the district with KPCC leaders, MLAs and ministers from the state”, Venkatesh added.
He also said that the Congress had already completed 50 percent of the election campaign work. “During the last four and half years tenure, the Siddaramaiah-lead Congress government has given corruption free administration. Hence Congress will win in all the eight constituencies in Dakshina Kannada”, he added.
Dakshina Kannada District Congress President Harish Kumar, on the occasion, informed that the KPCC observers would visit the district on February 17. The aspirants for the party ticket can give their applications to the observers which will be sent to the AICC, he added. There will also be a meeting involving the sitting MLAs and ministers and their former counterparts from the district, he disclosed.
