Bengaluru: Pro-farmer Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa is running a people-centric government and is following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s motto, ‘sab ka sath, sab ka vikas’. However, the Congress is busy trying to provoke different communities in the state,” said Christian Development Committee president Joylus D’Souza.

CM BSY announced a Rs 50-crore package for the development of the Christian community in the 2011-12 budget for the first time in the history of Karnataka. He also allocated the maximum amount of Rs 200 crores in the 2020-21 budget for the Christian community development, Joylus added in a statement.

Lashing out at the Congress leaders, he said that former MLC Ivan D’Souza is spreading fake propaganda in the name of the Christian community. “Why didn’t he do anything for the community even though he enjoyed a close position with the then CM Siddaramaiah? He is speaking merely for publicity. It won’t help the community in any way. That is why the people took the Congress party out of power,” he stated.

Joylus then challenged the Congress leaders to furnish a fact-sheet about the various things they did for the Christian community, before pointing fingers at the BJP.

“It is proven that the Christians support BSY for his development of the community. The Congress is too desperate and is using the divide and rule strategy, which is indirectly responsible for the unrest.,” he said, adding that the people will give the Congress a suitable answer in the coming days.
