Mangaluru: Alleging that the electricity bills during past two months have been overcharged, a delegation headed by MLA U T Khader met the Mangaluru Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) Managing Director on Tuesday, May 2, and urged her to provide separate bills for the two months in question.
The delegation met MESCOM MD Snehal Rayamane and informed that the MESCOM has been charging double the amount while issuing electricity bills to the public. The delegation urged the MESCOM to issue two separate bills for the two months as the amount reflected on the bills is much higher than the usage.
Placing the grievances of the public before the MESCOM, MLA Khader said that due to the lockdown, the people are already facing enough problems. As the MESCOM has been charging too much for electricity, the public is not in a position to pay the bills, he said.
MLCs Hareesh Kumar, Ivan D’Souza and other leaders were part of the delegation.
