Mangaluru: “It is the Congress party leaders who are saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the best leader for the country”, said the Bharatiya Janata Party Mangaluru Lok Sabha candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel, here on Thursday, April 11.
Addressing a public gathering in Moodushede, he said, “Veteran leader of the Congress party Sheila Dixit herself has said that during the decade-long regime of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in which Manmohan Singh was the prime minister, he was not able to take even one firm decision.”
“She has said that if he had taken a firm decision against the issue of terrorism then, we would not be having any terrorist issues now. According to her, if there is any leader in this country who has taken a firm decision and staunch action against terrorism, it is PM Modi”, he added.
He quoted another veteran Congress leader and former union minister Janardhan Poojary and said, “Poojary has clearly stated that when he was the union minister he had seen corruption happening. But if anybody has to be given credit for fighting against corruption and working towards stopping it, it is none other than PM Modi.”
“He has not only given credit to PM Modi for putting a break to corruption, but has also opined that he should be the PM for another two terms”, he added.
‘BJP will win above 22 seats in state and 350 seats in Centre’
BJP MLA from Moodabidri Assembly constituency, Umanath Kotian said, “We are confident that our BJP candidates will definitely win in the state. We are sure that more than 22 BJP candidates will win in the Karnataka state and in the Centre, we will get a strength of 350 MPs.”
Speaking about PM Modi and his Gujarat model of development, he said, “We used to hear that there is a chief minister named Narendra Modi, who has developed Gujarat on a massive scale. But in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he became the prime minister and has dedicated his life to completely transform the country on the Gujarat model.”
“He has worked for the country irrespective of caste, gender, creed and religion, and has governed the nation like a mother looking after her home”, he added.
Expressing his happiness on people’s response during the campaign, he said, “We are indeed privileged to have a leader like PM Modi because whenever we campaign, we are greeted inside the house and we are said that it is the house which supports PM Modi.”
He requested the electorate to give one more chance to PM Modi to develop the country, as one term was not enough for his plans.
Kotian said, “Whatever possible in five years, he has accomplished but he has more plans which need atleast 5 more years.”
Nalin Kumar Kateel campaigned even in Mulki and Moodabidri constituencies and participated in a road show at Kinnigoli and Bajpe.
