Dharmasthala: State Excise Minister H Nagesh visited the Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Temple along with his family here on Tuesday, October 1.

After offering prayers and meeting Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, he said, “The disqualified legislators resigned for their own reasons. If one sits with them and holds a discussion, the matters can be sorted. By God’s grace, they will definitely win the upcoming by-polls and once again serve the people of their respective constituencies.”

Nagesh then said that the government had not granted permits or licenses to any new wine shops. He added that the department was not under any pressure to earn income through unethical means.

He also said that Dr Heggade’s dream of creating an alcohol-free society and a society free of bad habits will be untouched, as the government supports his cause.

Deputy Commissioner of Mangaluru Excise Department Shailaja A Kote, Deputy Superintendent Padma V and others were present.
