Mangaluru: The city Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil has asked all the pub owners to shut the doors before late night as mentioned in the permit guidelines.
Patil, in a press release, has said that the police department has been receiving a lot of complaints regarding nuisance by the drunk in the late night. Hence, a meeting was convened with the owners of the pubs asking them not to keep their business open until late night. The pub owners were also asked to ensure that no customers consumed ganja in their pubs.
Meanwhile, Patil has also asked them to install suitable number of CCTV cameras both inside and outside, to ensure no illegal activities take place in the public.
The police department has already procured 12 new breath analysers to detect drunk and drive cases. On weekends, police have been strictly inspecting vehicles by placing zig-zag barricades in the key areas in the city and filing against drunk and drive offenders.
