Mangaluru: Kannada film ‘Fan’, made under the banner of SLN Cinemas, is all set to hit the silver screens on August 23.
While this is a Kannada film, most of the artists, including Naveen D Padil, are from the Coastalwood film industry.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, August 6, Director Darshith Bhat said that the story revolves around a television serial actor, who is an ardent fan of action king Shankar Nag, and a girl who is a fan of the TV actor. As the hero of this film is a fan of Shankar Nag, most of the shoot has been done in Honnavar, the late actor’s birthplace.

Aryan, the grandson of MLA and former minister M Krishnappa, plays the male lead in the film. Stating that this is his debut film, he said, “I was very nervous when I met Naveen D Padil, who plays the role of my father in the film. However, he was very cooperative throughout the shoot, which helped me do well.” Advithi Shetty, the female lead, sought the support of the Tulu Nadu people as she is from Mangaluru.
Naveen D Padil, who was also present at the meet, said that he is very happy to have worked with director Darshith Bhat. “Darshith’s dedication and working style shows that he will become popular in the coming days.”
