Coast Guard rescues Kerala fishing boat crew member suffering from chest pains

Mangaluru: A crew member of a Kerala-registered boat ‘IFB Sreyalu’, was rescued by the Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub Coordination Centre (New Mangaluru Port Trust) on Saturday, November 23, after he reportedly experienced chest pains.

The rescued crew member has been identified as Roopesh from Kerala.

According to sources, the coast guard received information from the Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub-Coordination Centre (Kochi) regarding the medical evacuation of a crew member of IFB Sreyalu (Kerala Registered KL-4-NN-2681), operating off Malpe, reported to have chest pains. 

After receiving information of the same, the Maritime Rescue Sub Coordination Centre (New Mangalore), in liaison with CSP Malpe, evacuated the crew member and shifted him to the KMC Manipal Hospital. Roopesh’s condition is said to be stable now.
