Mangaluru: Condoling the death of Deepak Rao and Basheer, Chief Minister Siddaramiah, on Sunday night, visited their residences and paid his respects to their families.
After arriving from Moodbidri, CM Siddaramaiah visited the residences of Deepak at Katipalla along with local MLA Moideen Bava, district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai and others. The CM assured the family of providing a government job or a private job at MRPL to Deepak’s brother, Sathish Rao, who is deaf and mute. He also asked the police officers to initiate strict action against the perpetrators of these crimes.
Later, the CM visited the residence of Basheer, in Akasaha Bhavan and consoled Basheer’s three children and family members. He also directed the officers to intensify the probe and expose the organization behind Basheer’s murder and to take strict action against them.
The CM also said that the government will provide Rs 10 lakhs compensation to the family members of Basheer.
A member of Basheer’s family speculated that one of the accused in Basheer’s murder was also involved in the home stay attack back in the year 2012 hence, the matter should be probed further.
