CM refutes Minister Madhwaraj’s rumoured defection to BJP

Mangaluru: Refuting rumours regarding Udupi District In-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj’s possible defection to the BJP ahead of state assembly elections, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that such rumours were being floated intentionally by BJP and it did not hold any base.

Madhwaraj does not plan to join BJP and has clarified the same on earlier occasions too, said Siddaramaiah on his arrival at Mangaluru International Airport on November 19.

The chief minister is expected to participate in public programmes to be held at Udupi today.

Responding to media questions that Madhwaraj’s defection to BJP was claimed by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, the CM stated that Kateel lacks culture and refinement.

Ministers Pramod Madhwaraj and U T Khader, MLA Mohiuddin Bava, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Kavita Sanil and others were present.
