Mangaluru: Former minister B. Ramanath Rai said that the problem of migrant workers could be solved by making food available to them at the panchayat level.

Speaking at a news conference here at Mallikkatte on Wednesday April 28, he said as there were complaints of vaccine shortage in Dakshina Kannada district, the state government needs to take care of it. “The central government should not discriminate in the distribution of vaccines, oxygen, drugs, etc,” he added.

Addressing the media former minister Abhayachandra Jain said that most medical colleges and semi-medical service colleges in the Dakshina Kannada district have a good medical infrastructure to combat Covid 19.

Meanwhile, AICC secretary Ivan D’Souza said “the vaccine should be purchased by the state government without waiting for a grant from the central government. This will help prevent the vaccine shortage,” he added.
