CCB police arrests 5 for peddling cocaine

Mangaluru: Acting on a tip-off, the City Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on August 17, nabbed five youth on the charges of drug peddling and seized cocaine worth Rs 50,000 from their possession.

The arrested accused are identified as Vijesh Kumar (34), a resident of Kunjathur, Manjeshwara in Kerala, Nithin (35) of Narimogaru, Puttur, Santhosh Kumar (36) of Bejai Church Road, Sandeep Kumar (34) of KHB Colony, Bondel and Rahul (26) of Soujanya Lane in Bikarnakatte.

According to police, the accused smuggled contraband from Goa and were selling the drug in the city.

After receiving an authentic information, police nabbed the accused and confiscated three cars, seven mobile phones, and Rs 1,02,000 Lakh cash from them.

The investigation by the police also revealed that the accused were successful in selling the cocaine to several people in the city.
