Mangaluru: Career Connect – a job fare organised by Milagres College, Mangaluru was inaugurated on March 15 at the college campus. Mangalore South MLA J R Lobo inaugurated the event in the presence of thousands of job aspirants and recruiting company representatives.
In his inaugural speech, Lobo said, “Youth are the strongest force in the society. They are the nation builders. When they don’t get jobs, they get desperate and this is harmful for the society. Giving youth proper employment opportunities is the responsibility of the society. But, it is the responsibility of the youth to be competent enough to get the right job. They should not blame the system and the society for unemployment due to their imcompetence.” He appreciated the effort of Milagres College Principal Fr. Michael Santhumayor to help the youth build their career and assured that he would try his best to bring more and more business investment to Mangaluru so that the local youth will get ample opportunities of employment.
Guest of honor, Archibald Menezes, the management committee member of Milagres College said, “I am delighted that 65 top companies have participated in this job fair with more than 3000 job openings. This will surely help many youth start a good career. Never miss an opportunity to lead in any situation and practice this now itself, so that it can be helpful to take on any challenge in your work places”.
Milagres College Principal Fr. Michael Santhumayor welcomed the gathering and event co-ordinator Suman Lasrado proposed the vote of thanks.
The one-day job fare is open to all job aspirants free of cost.
