Mangaluru: In a scare for several commuters, a car suddenly went up in flames at the busy Jyothi Circle junction in the city on Thursday, May 17.
The vehicle with KA 19 Z 7944 registration number belongs to Oliver Mascarenhas, a Bendoorwell resident.
Fire personnel were immediately pressed into action as flames could be seen emerging from the front portion of the car.
While the exact reason for the fire is not known, eyewitnesses have attributed it to a short circuit.
Mangalore NorthTraffic police diverted the vehicles on this section of the road to the opposite side till the situation was brought under control.
